    Hey Englewood,

    This is the sixteenth in a series of monthly updates regarding the Oxford Ave Pedestrian Bridge Project.

    On April 7th the city opened contractors’ bids for the construction contract. The city received 5 bids, however, the low bid was higher than the Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Cost. City staff is working to find additional sources of funding in order to move forward with construction. The city also selected a consultant engineering team to perform construction management and oversight services on the project.

    In the last month, the city advertised the project for construction. Bids from contractors are due on April 7th.

    In the next month, the city will close the advertising period and open bids. City staff will review the bids and work with the low bidder to prepare a contract for CDOT and City Council approval.

    This email is the thirteenth in a series of monthly updates regarding the Oxford Ave Pedestrian Bridge Project.

    In the last month, the city and consultant team awaited approval from CDOT and FHWA to advertise the project for construction. CDOT and FHWA provided concurrence to advertise on February 28th, allowing the city to move forward with the next phase of the project.

    In the next month, the city will advertise the project to construction contractors in an effort to obtain the lowest possible competitive bid.

CDOT will seek FHWA approval for the project to be advertised for construction. Finally, the city will advertise the project for construction in late December or early January.

    In the last month the project team submitted the plans and specifications package for a final review by the city and CDOT. The project team also continued the process of acquiring the necessary right-of-way for the project.

The design team will incorporate comments into the design and will prepare the final plans and specifications package for bidding. Lastly, the team will continue the right-of-way acquisition process.

    In the last month the project team began the process of acquiring right of way for the project and continued refining the plans and specifications. Also, staff met with City Council on August 23rd to update Council on the design progress and get direction on aesthetic treatments for the project.

    In the coming month, the project team will continue the process of acquiring the necessary right of way to build the bridge. Also, the team will be submitting the 90% plans & specifications package for the City and CDOT to review.
