Project Status

The City of Englewood has completed major improvements at Cushing Park in collaboration with Design Concepts and Elite Industries. The west side of Inca Street now features a new, fully fenced dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs, along with an agility course and additional amenities.

On the east side of Inca Street, a new playground is now open, offering updated play equipment designed to create a safe and enjoyable experience for families and children.

These improvements mark the first completed project under the Renew & Recreate initiative.

Project Description

The City of Englewood is collaborating with Design Concepts and Elite Industries to renew Cushing Park. The west side of Inca will feature a large and small dog park, and the east side will feature a new playground to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Estimated Cost of Improvements $600,000


Background Information

In March 2017, Englewood City Council adopted the Parks and Recreation Master Plan to serve as a road map for future park development/redevelopment and provide a balance of facilities, amenities and recreation programs for the next 10 years.

In July 2023, the Department of Parks, Recreation, Library and Golf updated the 2017 Master Plan Recommendations Sections (Chapter 3) to outline key improvements to Englewood's parks, opens spaces and facilities to meet the current needs and issues of the community.
