Construction begins on South Broadway Complete Streets
The South Broadway Complete Streets project is bringing exciting improvements to our community. These updates include upgraded bus stops, safer intersections, new bike infrastructure on South Sherman Street, and streetscape enhancements such as lighting, wayfinding and landscaping. Together, these changes will create a safer, more connected, and welcoming corridor for everyone who travels through South Broadway.
Crews have been surveying and preparing the South Broadway corridor for the start of construction, and traffic impacts will begin Monday, January 19.
What to Expect:
- Inside lane closures near the medians on South Broadway between Grand Street and Layton Avenue
- Lane closures will move north along the corridor as construction progresses
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for travel or use alternate routes. These closures are expected to remain in place through at least January 23 and will gradually move north along the corridor.
The South Broadway Complete Streets project will bring upgraded bus stops and intersections, new bike infrastructure on South Sherman Street and streetscape improvements such as lighting, wayfinding and landscaping. These updates support a safer, more connected and welcoming corridor for everyone who travels through South Broadway.
