South Broadway Revitalization Framework CoverAbout the Project

The City of Englewood launched the South Broadway Revitalization Project, which will incorporate community input on shaping the future of the corridor.

South Broadway is already home to a range of valuable assets, including beloved community spaces like Duncan Park, established local businesses and a budding arts district. The area is also benefiting from ongoing infrastructure improvements through the city’s Complete Streets initiative.

This project will build upon the strengths of the area while addressing opportunities for improvement identified by community members, city council members and city staff. The city has seen a growing interest from residents in expanding amenities, public spaces and opportunities for connection in this corridor.

Eight strategies will be utilized to make this area of South Broadway a safe, inviting and engaging place for people to live, work and play while respecting the unique history and culture of the corridor.

South Broadway Revitalization: Phase 2

On September 8, 2025, Englewood City Council reviewed community-driven recommendations from the eight strategy groups and outlined next steps. Phase 2 of the project focuses on turning ideas developed by strategy groups into action, guided by the direction of city council.

To engage the community in an organized way, staff coordinated strategy groups around eight key areas. The groups included community members, business owners and city staff. Each group developed project priorities in their area based on feedback from public events and the community survey.

Looking ahead: Staff will present a study session to City Council in January 2026 to provide updates to both Council and the community. Check back here for additional information about a possible kickoff event this fall.

Below are the proposals from each strategy area along with the direction provided by city council as the project moves into Phase 2. Expand each strategy area to learn more.
