3.2.21 - Project Update

US-285 & S. Broadway Users,

This email is the second in a series of monthly updates regarding the US-285 & S. Broadway Interchange Reconstruction Project.

In the last month, the project team continued work on establishing existing conditions. The geotechnical team performed soil borings and began analyzing the site’s subsurface conditions, the environmental team began field investigations for historic resources, and the traffic team is nearly finished with analyzing the existing traffic conditions and crash data. The project team hosted the project’s first public information meeting on Thursday, February 18th via live stream on Microsoft Teams. The project team received great questions and comments during the meeting and this feedback will be closely considered as the design progresses. A link to a recording of the meeting can be found HERE.

Going forward, surveying, topographic mapping, and determining existing right-of-way boundaries will be completed. The team will take a closer look at each of the proposed alternatives, comparing things like cost, safety, constructability, and how well the alternatives meet the goals of the project. The team will also be in the field marking and locating existing underground utilities. The next public information meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 2021.

As always, please feel free to reach out to the City’s Project Manager, Jake Warren at jwarren@englewoodco.gov.

Best,
Englewood Public Works
