September construction update

Construction continued along the South Broadway corridor in September, including:

• Oxford Avenue improvements: Excavation and placement of base material, curb and gutter forming, drainage work and other concrete improvements.
• Oxford Avenue bus pad: Construction of the bus pad, along with associated concrete, grading and restoration.
• Caisson work: Relocation or replacement of caissons near Belleview Avenue and other affected locations.

What to expect in October

Construction will continue throughout the South Broadway corridor in October, with a focus on completing improvements at several bus stops. Some work has been rescheduled due to stormwater improvement work.

Planned work includes:

• Bus stop improvements: Installation of new shelters, benches and trash bins at Chenango, Tufts, Quincy, Mansfield and Kenyon avenues.
• Oxford Avenue improvements: Continued excavation, drainage, concrete and corner improvements.
• Sidewalk and light poles: Continued sidewalk improvements and light-pole work along the west side of South Broadway.
• Median improvements: Work at Mansfield, Chenango, Quincy and Kenyon avenues, including installation of new median cover.
• Landscaping and restoration: Placement of topsoil in new planter boxes, along with grading, cleanup and restoration of disturbed areas.
• Pavement markings: New pavement markings around Chenango, Tufts, Mansfield and Kenyon avenues.

Work activities and sequencing may change based on weather, site conditions and construction progress.
