February 2026 Project Update

The South Broadway Complete Streets project is officially underway. Crews are making steady progress on efforts to improve safety, accessibility and transit efficiency throughout the corridor. Here’s a look at what was accomplished last month and what you can expect in the weeks ahead.

Work performed in January
Construction activities began in January with the installation of traffic control devices throughout the project limits. Initial impacts occurred at Belleview Avenue and South Broadway, including the temporary closure of the RTD bus stop. This closure allowed crews to reconstruct the corner to meet ADA standards and provide an improved bus stop.

Median removal also began along the South Broadway corridor.

Work anticipated in February
Construction at the RTD bus stop and the intersection of Belleview Avenue and S. Broadway is anticipated to be completed in early February. Median removal operations will continue along the corridor.

Beginning in mid-February, the RTD bus stop at Chenango Avenue is expected to be temporarily closed so crews can complete renovation work. Please see RTD’s route alerts page for information regarding RTD bus stop closures and detours in this area. RTD Service Alerts
