Work Anticipated in September
Construction activities will continue throughout the South Broadway corridor during September, with a primary focus on completing work near Oxford Avenue, remaining sidewalk and lighting improvements, and median work.
- Oxford Avenue Improvements: Continue excavation and placement of base material, followed by curb-and-gutter forming, drainage work, concrete placement, and corner improvements.
- Oxford Avenue Bus Pad: Complete bus-pad construction along with associated concrete, grading, and restoration.
- Sidewalk and Light-Pole Work: Continue sidewalk improvements and complete the remaining light-pole locations along the west side of South Broadway.
- Median Improvements: Continue median work and installation of median cover at Mansfield, Chenango, Quincy and Kenyon avenues.
- Caisson Work: Relocate or replace caissons near Belleview Avenue and other affected locations as necessary.
- Final Restoration: Complete grading, cleanup and restoration of disturbed areas as individual construction activities are completed.
Work at S. Broadway and E. Oxford Avenue is now in its final stage.
The construction schedule in this area was extended due to an unforeseen condition at the site and a conflict with the adjacent building foundation. The project team is carefully evaluating and addressing these conditions, while continuing to advance the work toward completion.
Work activities and sequencing are subject to change based on weather, site conditions, and construction progress.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the South Broadway corridor and pedestrian safety.
Thank you for your contribution!
