Oxford Ave Pedestrian Bridge – Lane Closures 9/3-9/4

On Wednesday, September 3, and Thursday, September 4, crews on the Oxford Avenue Pedestrian Bridge project will be placing the caisson under Pier 2 in the median. A caisson is a large, strong structure placed in the ground to support the bridge pier above it. This work will require the following temporary changes:

  • Inside (left) lanes in both directions will be closed between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.

  • Outside (right) lanes will remain open for eastbound and westbound traffic.

  • Traffic may be held periodically for up to 10 minutes to move equipment in and out of the work zone. Drivers are encouraged to use Hampden Avenue as an alternate route to avoid delays.

Sidewalks and Driveways:

  • All sidewalks, side streets, and driveway access will remain open.
