Old Hampden Utility Improvements Update – May 2025

The City of Englewood’s contractor has completed the water main installation in Phase 1 of the project area. Crews are now working on the storm main, which includes replacing outdated corrugated metal pipe with modern concrete box culvert. So far, over 150 linear feet of culvert has been installed.

The storm main work is expected to be completed around mid-May. At that point, the current traffic closure along East Hampden will shift east, allowing the South Logan Street and Hampden intersection to reopen. The new closure will extend along Hampden from just before South Pennsylvania Street to just before South Pearl Street, with the Pennsylvania intersection closed to through traffic.
