Old Hampden Improvements Update - September/October

New traffic control closures will begin on Tuesday, September 23. This phase impacts Old Hampden east of South Washington Street through the South Clarkson Street intersection.

These closures are part of the Old Hampden Utility Improvement Project, which is replacing and upgrading underground utilities to strengthen the area’s infrastructure. This work is laying the foundation for planned streetscape improvements coming in 2026, creating a safer, more reliable and more welcoming corridor for residents, businesses and visitors in the area.

Please follow posted detours and signage to get around the construction zone.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make these critical improvements that will support the future of Old Hampden.
