January/February 2026 Project Update

Work is continuing on Old Hampden Avenue between Broadway and Sherman streets as crews install new water mains. Turns onto Hampden from Broadway are currently prohibited in all directions. The street is expected to reopen in late February 2026.

This work is part of a larger effort to upgrade aging utility infrastructure along the corridor. Water and stormwater pipes installed in the 1950s are nearing the end of their useful life and have contributed to water main breaks and storm-related flooding in the area. These improvements will help ensure more reliable water service and better stormwater management for the community.
