As part of the city's ongoing Renew & Recreate improvements, the Englewood Recreation Center pool and locker rooms are getting a makeover starting Monday, August 31.
To make these changes happen, we have some important service updates to share:
- August 31, 2026: Annual Maintenance Week begins. The Englewood Recreation Center is closed.
- September 8 – Summer 2027: The Englewood Recreation Center reopens, but the pool and locker rooms remain closed during construction.
- Summer 2027: Grand reopening and project completion.
Stay Active with "Dry Aqua" Classes!
We know how much you love your pool routine and our world-famous instructor, Judy! To keep our community active and connected, Judy will be hosting Dry Aqua classes Tuesday through Friday in the gym at the same time, with the same great social vibe, just on dry land! Registration opens August 11 for residents and August 13 for non-residents. Register for Dry Aqua Classes here.
Track Adjustments
Due to structural work on the west side of the building, a portion of the indoor track will temporarily close for a period of time. A dedicated "horseshoe" loop will be created so you can still log your miles safely inside.
Alternative Changing Spaces
While the locker rooms are transformed, racquetball courts 3 and 4 will be converted into private, alternative dry changing spaces (separated for men and women).

These funds will be redistributed to installing an updated elevator in the facility, adding a cold plunge to the new hot tub/spa area and updating the floor tile in the main hallway. Redistributing funds did not come lightly, but the decision was made with our residents in mind. Creating a welcoming environment for all is the top priority. While it might be disappointing to see the ERC pickleball courts removed, there are new pickleball courts being installed at Belleview Park. The ERC courts would have required an Englewood Recreation membership to be utilized, while the courts on the west side of Belleview Park will be free to use. Also, there are free courts at Colorado's Finest High School of Choice at 300 W. Chenango Avenue that Englewood residents can utilize for free as well.Due to unforeseen costs, pickleball courts at the Englewood Recreation Center (ERC) will no longer be part of the Renew & Recreate project. Project Funding
Over the next three years and beyond, $41.5 million will be invested in parks and recreation through the bond projects approved by Englewood voters. General Obligation Bonds require 85% of the work to be completed within three years, so the majority of projects are expected to be finished by 2028.
Thanks to your support, the city is investing in vibrant parks and recreation for everyone, now and into the future, through the Renew & Recreate campaign. Funded by the Parks and Recreation Bond, this initiative includes major upgrades to parks, playgrounds, recreation facilities and trails.
