Background Information
Belleview Park has long been a destination for Englewood families, offering a miniature train, farm, open green spaces, and access to Big Dry Creek. However, many park features are now outdated, don’t meet the needs of park staff or guests, or are nearing the end of their life cycle. Community feedback and infrastructure assessments have guided a renovation effort that balances tradition with modern needs while still embracing the features that have made Belleview Park iconic for the community. The project reflects the City’s commitment to reinvesting in beloved public spaces and ensuring they continue to serve future generations.
In March 2017, Englewood City Council adopted the Parks and Recreation Master Plan to serve as a road map for future park development/redevelopment and provide a balance of facilities, amenities and recreation programs for the next 10 years.
In July 2023, the Department of Parks, Recreation, Library and Golf updated the 2017 Master Plan Recommendations Sections (Chapter 3) to outline key improvements to Englewood's parks, opens spaces and facilities to meet the current needs and issues of the community.
