About the Project

The City of Englewood is developing an Age-Friendly Action Plan to guide how the city supports residents age 55 and older. The plan will serve as a 3 to 5 year roadmap to help the city set priorities, strengthen services, and focus resources where they will have the greatest impact.

This effort includes reviewing existing programs, analyzing community data, and most importantly, gathering insight directly from Englewood residents.

A key part of the project is understanding the role of the Malley Recreation Center as a central hub for older adult activities, programs, and support services. Input from residents will help shape decisions about programs, partnerships, and future investments that support healthy aging in the community.

Why This Plan Matters

Englewood’s older adult population is growing, and many residents depend on programs and services that promote aging in place, mobility, social connection, safety, and overall well-being.

The Age-Friendly Action Plan will help the city:

  • Identify the most pressing needs of older adults
  • Understand where gaps or barriers exist
  • Strengthen services and programs that support daily life
  • Plan for long-term improvements that align with the city’s community wellbeing goals

The plan will focus on priority areas including:

  • Food security
  • Personal safety and cyber safety
  • Financial navigation
  • Technology support
  • Aging-in-place resources
  • Access to health and social services

How You Can Participate

Community input is an essential part of this project. We want to hear from residents of all ages and in particular those age 55 and older. We will have many different ways to share your thoughts and ideas throughout the planning process.
