As a result of a drainage study it was recommended that the City of Englewood make various upgrades to the storm sewer network in the northeast area of the city to reduce flooding, ponding and risk to people and property. Most sites recommended for improvement were proposed to expand drainage capabilities by installing larger or additional inlets that tie into the existing network.
Public Works put out a Request for Proposals (RFP) to design these infrastructure upgrades in Fall 2022. By January 2023 work orders were in place with both a survey and design specialist. Survey work will begin in January 2023. Once completed the design process will begin. Design is expected to be completed in Spring 2023 with construction beginning Summer/Fall 2023.
During the construction phase, residents can expect local road closures and minor disruptions.
