Electric Vehicle (EV) Action Plan

In August of 2022, the City was selected by Xcel Energy to take part once again in their Partners in Energy (PIE) program to conduct an Electric Vehicle Action Plan. This program "is a program from Xcel Energy that supports the communities [they] serve by helping them develop and implement these energy plans." The PIE program is completely free to the city. The city will undergo three planning workshops and expect to have a final plan ready for city council to consider adoption in early to mid-2023.

Connection to the Strategic Plan

This project directly helps the following goals and projects found in the strategic plan, namely under the Sustainability section:

• Goal - Air Quality:Improve public health outcomes through better air quality.
  • Through increased adoption of electric vehicles, the City of Englewood can decrease the amount of pollution that is emitted from standard combustion engine vehicles, thus improving resident health and safety.
• Goal - Clean and Connected Transportation:Increased access to multimodal transportation options, and ensuring most needs are met within a travel distance of 15 minutes
  • Project: Explore the establishment of a plan to increase the percentage of electric vehicles in the City’s fleet
