The City of Englewood has retained Economic & Planning Systems to prepare a comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan. The plan will serve as a 10-year guide to position the city on a continued path of a resilient, sustainable and vibrate economy that allows people of all backgrounds and incomes to live, work, visit and thrive in Englewood.

The plan is intended to offer city staff, business and community leaders and stakeholders a basis for formulating community specific economic development priorities and initiatives. It is also intended to help guide decisions related to the allocation of public funds and other resources. The plan will be completed over the next six months and will serve as a guiding document for the city’s economic development program, factoring the city’s strengths, weaknesses, and challenges. Specific topic areas to be addressed include:

• The role of key economic development organizations and partners

• Strategic real estate and redevelopment catalyst opportunities

• Small business support including access to capital, grants, incentives, and real estate needs

• Opportunities associated with major employers and other community anchors

• Key activity districts including: South Broadway, Englewood City Center, and the Wellness District.

The plan's development will be guided by a steering committee comprised of City of Englewood staff and the city's external economic development partners.
