Bates Logan Park Basketball Court Update

The basketball court at Bates Logan Park is scheduled for reconstruction later this fall due to surface issues identified during testing.

After the new basketball court was completed, the surface did not meet required durability standards, failing pressure tests and showing cracking from underneath. To ensure long-term durability and safety, the court will need to be redone. The reconstruction will not incur any additional costs to the city.

The court is safe to use in the meantime and will remain open for play until reconstruction begins. The replacement work is planned for later this fall and is expected to require a closure of approximately two to four weeks. All other park amenities are expected to remain open and accessible throughout the construction period.

While this may be disappointing, the goal is to deliver a high-quality court that will last for years to come.
