A Better Broken Tee: May Update

The Broken Tee Golf Course has officially reopened its full championship course following a major, $997,000 renovation on Holes 1 through 6, the par 3 and the driving range!

Originally built on an old, sealed-off landfill, these high-traffic areas suffered from heavy clay soil compaction and severe puddling that routinely killed the grass. To permanently resolve these drainage issues, golf course architect Rick Phelps and crews broke ground on January 29, 2026, excavating the top six inches of soil, digging 12x12 trenches to install a grid of drain pipes every 15 feet, and laying down a custom root zone topsoil blend with fresh sod.

This project has delivered an immediate improvement for golfers, who can finally hit their balls off of healthy, consistent grass rather than dirt.
